We currently have 150,000 Arabica (Bourbon and Typica) seedlings in our coffee nursery. They are propagated from strong, healthy, and vibrant coffee trees aged 10–12 years old.

Growing healthy seedlings takes lots of care and skill. Soils must be kept moist but not overly so. Light, airflow and temperature are also important. Summer temperatures are generally mild, averaging 20–28 degrees. We use bamboo shields, tarpaulins, and shade cloths to protect the plants as necessary.

We started the nursery four years ago to meet the high demand for coffee plants. We aim to support the expansion of coffee production in Dhankuta district to make it a coffee hub. We encourage potential coffee farmers to contact us for high quality seedlings and plants.

NURSERY

ARABICA COFFEE nursery

Our coffee nursery is a small but highly concentrated farm. We have strict supervision to ensure our products are growing well and sheltered from strong winds or overheating.

We made a fixed structure for the nursery, covered by a green net. This helps us to manage the sunlight through the day and different seasons and is critical in regulating the temperature inside the nursery.

Our nursery is always neat and clean. This prevents diseases and keeps the plants healthy and pest free. We have created a buffer zone to reduce dirt and diseases entering the nursery.

Seedlings are grown in nursery beds. Once they are mature and ready for sale, we move them into polybags.

We sell our seedlings at 16-18 months when they are strong, healthy, and able to be successfully transplanted onto farms.

Nursery operations

We practice sustainable farming at our coffee nursery with mulching and composting. We turn green waste into compost to improve soil nutrients and increase seedling health and potential productivity.

The nursery employs nine people on a permanent basis, including four women. During peak season, we also hire casual staff. We have a friendly working environment and a commitment to health and safety.

The most valuable part of our business is our staff. We are committed to ensuring that they feel supported and protected by us.
